McAfee vs. McAfee

Its 5:00 am in the morning, I’m still working on my term papers and my computer keeps me reminded about the security of my laptop. It says, that my computer is not fully protected from virus, and telling me to click the protection status in McAfee Security Center and fix the problem. By not updating my anti-virus soon, I knew I’m risking my computer.

John McAfee the founder and owner of McAfee Security Center is on the headline of National and locals news. His been arrested in Guatemala for entering the country illegally. When the story unfolded; his hiding from the authority in Belize for almost three weeks. It’s about the murder of his neighbor. McAfee had a press conference in Guatemala and seeking asylum. He stated in the interview,"that he needs to disguised as a handicapped to avoid manhunt." He blamed that there’s a gang of thieves been sent to wrong house that killed his neighbor. The news reporter says,"MacAfee lives, evolved around drugs, sex, and guns." What a risky way to lived.
John McAfee heart problems delay deportation to Belize
The irony of this blog is; I’m risking the life of my laptop for not renewing my anti-virus software, while the inventor of this program is risking his life by living dangerously. I also learned from the news that John McAfee sold his company and liquidated his asset since 2000.

USO

This is the Organization I want you to meet. The United Service Organization or USO. This is a Private Non-Profit organization that caters to America’s Armed Forces and their families. Some people might think that this is a government agency, but it is not.

Naval Air Station Jacksonville
Our local USO here in Jacksonville has three strategic locations. The first one is located at the ground floor of Jacksonville International Airport, the second one is located at the Naval Station Mayport, and the third is at the Naval Air Station (NAS), Jacksonville. I volunteered at the NAS, Jacksonville. We do a lot of packing boxes to send to the troops deployed overseas. I answered phone calls, assist them in using the computers, copying and faxing documents. I do some clerical work too. Whatever needs to be done that day, I’ll do it. These are simple task and easy that everyone can do.
Volunteers are the USO greatest and most important asset. They always looking for volunteers. If you are interested these are the three USO centers: Mayport-(904) 246-3481, NAS Jacksonville-(904) 778-2821 or 7928, and JIA Welcome Center-(904) 741-6655 or you can visit their website at: www.jaxuso.org

Refill Sir?

Did you ever asked by an employee in any coffee house for refill? I was, and I enjoyed that kind of hospitality. It happened here at Starbucks Blanding avenue, Orange Park. While, I'm blogging for school. The shift manager asked me if I want a refill. I politely said no, because I'm already wired and it's late. The barista who served me earlier my coffee and coffee cake was so nice. Always smiling and courteous to all her customers. I feel welcomed and decided to stay longer. One of the best coffee and service I ever had this month. I recommend this coffee house to every one who might end up this side of town. Two thumbs up for the barista!!!

Drinking coffee and blogging are made from heaven

Party or Hospital

Party or Hospital?
Naval Hospital of Jacksonville
It’s Friday night and my friends is waiting for me to show up in the restaurant/bar they chose.  Location was in the South-side area of Jacksonville. I have to drive about thirty minutes from my place. The celebration was for a brother-in-law of my friend who’s leaving in a week back to the Philippines. We call it “Despedida” (like a farewell party). So I’m thinking why not make a review of the restaurant /bar, I am about to enjoy. The moment I arrived, my buddy told me that we just have to stay there for a few more minutes and moved on to a better Bar(not really sure what he meant by that).. I finished my drink and ate some finger foods and off we go. We decided to drive in two cars instead of driving individually. Unfortunately we did not stay there longer, because my friend had an emergency to take care that night and we cut the night-out sooner than expected. So my review on these two establishments just went out to the window.
Main Entrance
Saturday morning, I am awaken with numbness and tingling sensation on my left arm, and a chest pain. I just ignore it, and went back to sleep. The tingling and numbness of my arm disappear, but the chest pain still linger. Maybe, it’s indigestion, so I decided to rest for more, anyway it’s weekend. Around 11:30 am, I decided to get up and brew some coffee and have a brunch. I’d noticed that the pain don’t disappear, nor it subside. Around 2:00 pm, I’m experiencing a shortness of breath and my chest pain still there and getting worst. Being a military veteran, I decided to drive to Naval Hospital of Jacksonville to have it check. When I arrived at the Emergency room, I was greeted by a triage nurse and asked me, what brought me to the E.R. I explained what just happened and she started taking my vital signs. (Vital sign were composed of blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature).
Main Lobby
After taking my vital sign I was brought inside the emergency room and assigned a bed. They asked more questions while the hospital corpsman started drawing my blood and inserted an IV catheter in my right hand, while my left arm was being monitor for blood pressure.  The other nurse was attaching patches in my chest for an ECG (electrocardiogram) to monitor my heart rhythm. The chest x-ray was performed bedside. After the chest x-ray, the lieutenant asked me how’s my pain in a scale of one to ten. I answered him back and he notifies the doctor and gave me some medications. As soon as I took the medications, the pains subside.

To make the story short, I was admitted to the ward for observation; I was discharged the next day and came back the following day for a cardiac stress test. With this type of service, I know I am in good hands. What an outstanding service! From the triage nurse, hospital corpsmen, military nurses, civilian nurses and attending physicians. You’re the pride of military medicine. Keep up the good work, and Thank You for your service!!!.
